I’ve been wondering, when is the right time to stop giving an Easter basket to our growing girls?
Yet the fact is, my maturing daughters really do look forward to this simple expression of our love and the surprises they’ll find inside their baskets on Easter Sunday morning. From the time they were wee little, I always put the focus on the meaning of Easter, Christ’s resurrection. Through including gifts, like devotional books or jewelery with a message, my desire was to bring us back to the purpose of Christ’s life and death as we reflected together on our Redeemer’s sacrifice on the cross. It seems to me that my tween and teen girls are not too hold to continue this tradition, even if the basket might be a little smaller as they get a little older.
