Be Inspired, Be the Impact

Don’t you love it the way God can speak to our hearts simply through repetition?

We might hear a particular song on K-love over and over again, and on the upteenth time it finally sinks in that the message is for us. Or maybe it’s a particular verse sown into the pastor’s Sunday message followed by  devotional reading on Tuesday and quoted by a friend on Friday.

Sometimes, God speaks to us by affirming through others a message we never wanted to hear in the first place.

When I ordered my Lenny & Eva bracelet badge for my “word for the year,”  I selected “brave”and was ready to make that my mission for 2017. However, instead of “brave,” another badge arrived in the mail and it said, “inspire.” Honestly, it’s a word I’m not all that comfortable with, because it feels like there’s a weighty responsibility behind it. I was ready to return it, but instead, took it to social media for an opinion, and was shocked to discovered that all hands were raised for me keeping “inspire.”

The Unlikely Call to Inspire

The Lord turned my attention in a new, uncomfortable direction, inviting me to walk deeper with Him into my calling.

Could I really be a woman that lives in such a way to inspire others? No way! But the reality is that although I never set out to inspire anyone, the by-product of calling women to authenticity and transformation for the sake of impacting the next generation is indeed what I’ve been doing.

I was living my calling without even knowing I had one.

My real life doesn’t feel very inspiring at all. It’s hard to constantly battle my old ways of thinking and move on from insecurity. It’s hard to let go of hurts and walk in forgiveness. It’s hard to not be that angry soul, when all the triggers line up to make me want to explode.

But, I’ve come to realize that the inspiration isn’t in me . . . it’s in seeing Christ at work . . . in me and through me.

Jesus is the one that inspires.

Each time I put on that inspire bracelet, I feel the call afresh to walk in it  . . . in the call to inspire by the choices I make one moment to one moment submitted entirely to the Lord.

Be Inspired, Be the Impact

It’s not about having arrived. It’s not about having it all together. It’s about submitting to a call that feels too big and too daunting if I strive to fill it in my own strength and power. But in Christ, I can seek to be a woman who inspires other women to pursue a fresh encounter with God and embrace the opportunity to lead a life of impact for the sake of the next generation.

How is God calling you to live inspired by Him and be the impact?

Meet The Inspire Shop

Isn’t it perfect that as this message of “inspire” is on me, that the Lord crosses my path with a friend from the early days of More to Be. Tiffany Garza is a passionate, creative soul, with a heart for doing the Lord’s work in any way He calls. Her latest endeavor is in the creation of a new online store and in-real-life ministry.

The Inspired Shop

This is what Tiffany shared with me about her new endeavor:

The heart behind The Inspire Shop is twofold: to bring women inspiration throughout the day to love well AND bring that same inspiration out in to the community.

Each month the shop will host a Crafting Inspiration event in different local Sacramento area places (i.e. women’s shelters / women coming out of trafficking homes / group homes / etc.) free of charge for the ladies and completely volunteer driven to share the love of Jesus, do some art therapy via crafting, and pray for them.

What I really love is this part of The Inspire Shop:

#MugswithaMission

The goal behind our mugs is to inspire women to engage in the messy of life and love themselves and others, even during the craziness of moments, inspiring not only the one who holds it in her hand but others who have yet to encounter agape love.

Our mugs are on a mission to serve women in our community with love through monthly events at local women’s homes. With each purchase, 10% of the proceeds goes towards funding for the home and event.

I love that as I embrace the call to inspire others, there are a bazillion ways I can make an impact . . . like supporting The Inspire Shop while doing what the Lord has called me to do . . . write {and drink lots of coffee}.

  1. The Hello Lovely mug/print really resonates with me because it’s a reminder that I am lovely. Like God saying, “Good morning, My Love.” And it’s adorable!

  2. The print that says Holy Child, chosen and more. I’ve wanted to hear those words my whole life instead of “you’re worthless and you’ll never amount to anything”.
To read those words every day and believe them would make a difference in my life.

  3. I love them all but Write Your Heart Out and Just Keep Writing are the two phrases that pulled my heartstrings!
