A Prayer for a Mentor Mom

For the Moms…of Raising Generations Today

Are you a mom with a passion to raise up the next generation for the glory of God? Do you desire to speak into your tweens and teens as you come alongside them with a mentoring mindset? Well, you’re not alone. This weekend, I’m spending my time with over 225 women who desire to raise up the next generation. We’re at the very first Raising Generations Today Conference being held in upstate New York, and I have the honor or leading a workshop that is near and dear to my heart:  Mentoring the Hearts of Your Tweens & Teens.  It…

But those who hope in the Lord...

Dear Patience

Dear Patience, You and I don’t seem to get along very well some days. I know that I need you, and yet I always backpedal. I go back to what is familiar, what I’m used to, what makes me feel better about myself. I make my own plans and try to somehow mold a picture of my future that I think might be right,,, but who knows if it is? I certainly don’t. I forge ahead with my plans, my hopes, my dreams, my umcertainties and insecurities and doubts. So rarely in this fast-paced world do I stop and take…

Still Learning to Live Beautiful in the Skin I’m In

I have a little story to share with you.  It is sort of the behind-the-scenes of my heart-life and may give you a new perspective as to why I’m so passionate about reDefining Beauty. I usually prefer to run — as foolish as…

Are you working the wait?

I’ll admit I can be a pretty impatient person. That’s why I don’t like appointments, traffic, or large crowded places. For me, these situations spell LONG LINES OF WAITING where I feel I can do nothing but sit on my hands and waste time. However, waiting on God is not at all about sitting around doing nothing. Waiting on God takes discipline. It requires exercising the gifts of service God has given each of us, where we serve God through our own unique abilities and circumstances. [Tweet “As God’s people, we work the wait.”] Yes, we use those waiting times…

Should I date a boy who is not a Christian?

Real Question: Should I date a boy who is not a Christian?

A Question from a Real Teen: Should I date a boy who is not a Christian, even though he is really nice to me?  I’m unstable in my faith. Should I stay with him? Can I make him change? Our Answer: This question really touched home for me because it is my story, one that the Lord is still writing! When you say non-Christian boy I assume you mean, not saved….or committed to the Lord. Maybe he believes in God but doesn’t know him or never thought about it. Obviously, if he was some one who completely denounces God that…
