{12 Eternal Gifts} Let my mercy…

Let my mercy undo you.

feel free to use this at your site

Micah 7:18
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

Mercy.

Like God’s grace, it is an indescribable gift.

Mercy is…

  1. compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one’s power; compassion, pity, or benevolence
  2. the disposition to be compassionate or forbearing
  3. the discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment
  4. an act of kindness, compassion, or favor
Mercy is when God holds back His wrath from the place of love giving us the chance to see His face and respond to His grace.
Mercy is when we know what we did is warrants discipline and consequence, and instead God responds with a gentleness undeserved and a tenderness that draws our heart toward Him.
Mercy.

Reflection Questions

  2. How is God’s mercy a delight, both for Him and for us?
  3. In what way are you able to show mercy to those around you, especially this Christmas season?

  1. Oh precious sister, I LOVE this! I could write a book just from your post. During a discussion after church this past Sunday, my husband and I were discussing this very beautiful gift we receive from God through Christ every day.

As I continue to be awe-struck by His love, so to am I by His grace, mercy and patience with me. All four cause me to bow my head and heart with humility.

Thank you for this beautiful message!
    Much love!

    1. Yes, Lisa! Yes! I could write about book, too. Maybe God will have us collaborate in the future. What a beautiful journey that would be together! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I have seen God’s mercy recently in His love for my family and son’s who are both going through difficult times …some brought on by their own behavior. The Lord has been so merciful and His love is changing us all step by step moment by moment. I know I can trust Him because He is faithful and true 🙂 Amen! Thank you my dear sister for the daily reflection of our savior Christ Jesus <3

  3. Mercy seems to be a rare flower sometimes, in today’s world. People often prefer grudges over mercy and yet as this time of the year is upon us, it seems to be a broader reminder of how vital and bless filled our Father’s Mercy is for all of us!!

    Love today’s post!

    1. Yes, I see such a lack of mercy. Yesterday, a man nearly punched out another guy in the parking lot over who knows what. All I could think of was, mercy. Oh, God, give them mercy…

    1. Wow, God is truly writing this series because I don’t even remember penning those words. They just cut me to the core as I read them again. How wonderful is that!
