A Story about Passion and Purpose

When the Lord first formed the idea of More to Be in my mind, it came as an answer to a question pounding on my heart for years.

God, how can I help this generation of teenage girls? There are too many for me to reach, but oh how I want to pour into their lives!

The Lord was moving me from a place of plotting solutions to prayerfully laying it all before Him.  In that long season of seeking and waiting, the Lord shifted my perspective.  Through studying Titus 2, over the course of a year, followed by homeschooling my sixth grade daughter in an intentional Titus 2 self-created curriculum, the Lord grew in me a passion for today’s women, especially moms, to intentionally mentor their daughters.  Yet, as this passion burned in my heart, more pray-filled questions arose…

Lord, how can I engage moms and equip them to mentor their daughters?  How can I train and equip today’s women  to speak the truth with transparency and humility, all the while becoming better listeners?  How can I challenge mature, godly women to rise up in bold love for the sake of the next generation of young women?

From this heart’s cry, the Lord brought to life More to Be, as a place to encourage and equip teens through twenty-somethings along with today’s women with relevant, life transforming Truth.  While I felt the Lord equipping me for this new adventure, I still wanted to be more qualified to lead and equip.  Yes, I know how the saying goes, “He equips the called, and doesn’t call the equipped.” And, yes, 15 years mentoring teen girls is significant in the Lord’s equipping work, but I wanted to off more than my experience. So I continued to seek the Lord, asking Him the same questions that has been on my heart for more than a decade.

Lord, should I get my masters in counseling or theology?  Or should I pursue life coaching? Oh, Lord, what is it you want me to do?  Maybe nothing at all?

He was faithful to show me exactly what was next.

Is it any surprise that the Lord had been working within me His purposes all along, preparing me for the certainty of becoming a trained Life Coach, inspired by a fantastic experience I had being coached nearly eight years ago.  In every step of the training process, I felt the runner’s passion.  I felt God’s pleasure.  I was made to do this.  And it has forever changed me, especially in my role as a mother.  I have learned how to listen well and ask effective questions.  I have shifted my thinking from being a problem solver to seeking and offering the One who solves all problems.

With my training and certification with Life Breakthrough Academy now complete, I am thrilled to offer the benefits and blessings of coaching here at More to Be.

As a trained Life Coach, I am able to ask you — teen, twenty-something, and today’s woman —  key questions to help you identify obstacles and discover solutions so that you experience God’s best for your life, right here, right now.  It is my privilege to help you navigate through…

  • relationship challenges
  • mother-daughter issues
  • college selection process
  • discovering your God-given gifts and talents
  • uncovering your passions and life purpose
  • moving through a career change or life transition
  • leadership development
  • ministry direction

With my heart for teens and women, especially mother-daughter relationships, I am especially keen on helping moms think proactively and intentionally parent their tween through twenty-something daughters! While this will most certainly play out here at More to Be, my deep hope is to work with moms on-one-on to strategically focusing on cultivating new, healthy habits with this generation of young women.

Coaching is about asking effective questions and listening attentively to enable you to discover the answers the Lord has for you.  It isn’t about telling you what to do or solving your problems.  God has the answers you’re looking for in every area of your life!

As your life coach, I am simply committed to helping you discover His passions and purposes so that you may truly experience life transformed.
