{in}couraging moms in mentoring teens :: a new community group

UPDATED:

Please note that the first session of Dayspring’s (in)Courage groups comes to a close on December 2, 2012.

The next session will begin on February 2, 2013.

If you are looking for connection, please do subscribe to More to Be to be kept informed.

Moms of tweens and teens, are you feeling overwhelmed? Tired? Frustrated? Confused?

Do you feel like you don’t have what it takes to parent your DAUGHTER or SON through these adolescent years?

You are not alone. But chances are that you might feel that way, as you run around town with your busy teen, not stopping long enough to connect with another frazzled mom in an authentic way.

The problem is that without community around us, reminding us of the truth of who really are in Christ, we forget that in Him we have everything we need to parent with wisdom, grace, humility, gentleness, patience, and love. We also forget that the Father has made us to need each other as we navigate through these parenting days. He has made us to be His hands and feet to one another, as we partner with Him in the journey of motherhood.

God has designed up to join together, grasping HIS hand while encouraging one another to press on in the sanctifying journey known as parenting teens. That’s why we’re inviting you, a mom of a teen or preteen (son or daughter), to join an exciting new community of encouragement, created by {in}Courage, a division of Dayspring, designed especially for moms of teenagers.

This special group, known as {in}Couraging Moms in Mentoring Teens, seeks to inspire moms of teens in being mentors to their children. Our purpose is to lead moms as they help their children be established in their identity in Christ, discover their God-given purpose, and live it out for His glory. Through finding time to connect using social media, we seek to foster a community of prayer, praise, accountability, and encouraging words rooted in Biblical truth.

We want to be here, in community with you, throwing up our hands to Him and saying we need help, but knowing that ultimately it is to the Lord we will turn — together. We trust that as we seek our Creator God, that He will give to us everything we need to parent our teenage children well.

So come close friend. We want you to grab the nearest comfy chair {even if it means pushing aside the overflowing load of laundry on top of it} and sit right down with us. We want to be with you and the Lord, together. We want to lean in with you, listening to God’s wisdom for our parenting journey. He has given us amazing, beautiful, challenging teenagers to love. And we trust that He, having the instruction manual in His hands, is going to teach each of us how to do it according to His perfect plan.

And to do it well, even if it looks messy while we learn.

Are you with us?

Meet your leaders.

Will you pull up a chair and get to know us a bit?

It is so nice to meet you. We like you already.

Just to clarify, this new community group is not a part of the More to Be ministry.

in leading this particular group, sponsored by Dayspring,  focusing on mothers of teens.

  1. I sure wish there was another way to join this group! I no longer use Facebook…What a much needed and great group for mom’s!

  2. I need all the encouragement I can get. Just moved my son to college in FL 10 hours away and I have a Daughter who is a freshman in high school.

  4. Thank you so much! I am a former MOPS leader and my preschoolers are now 13, 12, and 10. I have been looking for a group like this for guidance. I cherished my time in MOPS and the knowledge and friendships gained there. Looking forward to this group!

  5. Thank you, dear ladies for seeing the need for a teenage parenting community! I look forward to sharing life with everyone! Bless you!

  6. I thank God that He has allowed me to come across this site. It is an answer to my prayers to find a group of like-minded women who are passionate about making a difference in the life of teens and future generations. I am interested in joining the Facebook group that will begin in February. Please let me know what I need to do to join.
