1. Building 429 :: Bonfire {listen to it here}
Building 429 recently released there newest album “We Won’t Be Shaken“, which features some of the best songs I have heard from them. Although each song is wonderful, my favorite song has to be “Bonfire.” It’s a great song that reminds us to be on fire for God. So much so that we could easily light a bonfire! My favorite lyrics/verse says:
This is the shout out, this is my voice
Calling all the men, women, girls and boys
The dropouts and losers, the hurt and the broke
Time to reclaim what the darkness has stole
Marching to the beat of a different drum
We live for the love, without counting the cost

2. Brandon Heath :: Love Does {listen to it here}
Though Brandon’s newest album “Blue Mountain” was released over six months ago, his songs are still making a big impact. One of my favorites from the album is, “Love Does.” This song is a great reminder that even when other people don’t notice that we are hurting or going through tough times, God’s love is present. My favorite part of the song is the last verse, where Brandon really delivers the meaning to his song:

Somebody walks
Somebody sees

3. Matthew West :: Hello My Name Is {listen to it here}
Matthew West has truly created a song for everyone! Currently at number 3 on the Christian and Gospel iTunes chart, the beat of his “Hello My Name Is” makes you want to get up and dance, while the lyrics reach right to your heart. Matthew tells us that we are not identified with our past, but with the knowledge that we are a “Child of the One True King!” The chorus is definitely the best part of the song:
These are the voices, these are the lies
And I have believed them, for the very last time

I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, and I have been set free

Love these songs! I have so many favorites, but one that always encourages me is Jake Hamilton’s The Anthem–and fittingly titled.
From the first words, “I can hear the footsteps of my King,” I am taken by it. My heart connects in a special way to every word.
