How to Pray Without Ceasing

Prayer.

For me, this word sparks delight. It means a conversation between me and God. I can always come to Him with both my trials and my joys.

I am part of several ministries where prayer is a large part. I recently joined Wives of Faith, a community for military wives, whose entire ministry is based upon the power of prayer. This week, the college youth group I am a part of spent an evening talking with and praying for one another. The church I attend back home is known for the strength of our prayers.

Will you pray without ceasing?

I believe prayer is not always meant to be done on our knees with bowed heads.

I believe it is also meant to be done in the moment:

“Thank you, God, for this day.”

“Lord I ask that you be with me; I need You.”

“Give her the strength she will need to do what you would have her do for You today.”

We can pray often, not just when we wake, before we eat, and before we go to sleep at night.

When we think of someone, we can intercede on their behalf. When we feel strong emotion, whether it be love or frustration, we can pray.

[Tweet “Whenever the stress of our daily lives feels as if it will suffocate us, we can turn to God in prayer. “]

We always have something to thank Him for, even if we can think of nothing more to be thankful for than our salvation. God promises to be with us always, and He does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17).

Prayer is one way we can draw closer to our unchanging, loving God.

 1 Thessolonians 5:17 KJV

Pray without ceasing.
