For Your Boy-Crazy Tween and Teen Girls {Giveaway}

One thing the book industry seems to lack is in the area of books for tween and teen girls. What the industry considers as “enough” for their market dollars doesn’t seem to match up to reality for those of us who have girls who like to read — and who want to read books that encourage them to be strong in their faith. So when Moody Publishers sent me an announcement about these two new books, I jumped at the chance to get a look at them. And I am so glad I did!

Boy-Crazy Tween & Teen GirlsAs I opened the pages of Confessions of a Boy-Crazy Girl, I expected a sweet little story with a message about waiting. Instead, I found honest and beautiful truth about a young woman learning to wait on God. Paula invites you into her story and keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat wondering what comes next. She makes waiting have purpose…purpose that makes waiting not wasted time.

The My Name is Erin series is equally inviting! It caught the attention of all my girls — even my 8-year old — because of the fun colors, fonts, and cute little size! To her disappointment, I’ve had to declare this collection off limits until she is older, only because Erin is brilliant at tackling the tough topics tween and teen girls face today. Topics that I want my 12-year old and 14-year old to hear from someone else speaking the same Truth I offer them each time we discuss issues like identity, sexuality, purpose, and living without compromise.

Moody Publishers has done a great job in creating relevant resources for tween and teen girls, written by authors who understand the needs of this generation. I highly recommend both to you, and pray these resources will speak to the hearts of your girls!

Maybe you’ve had a moment-a time in your history when God did something radical in your heart. Putting your faith and trust in Him certainly feels like taking a giant leap, but really it’s just the beginning of the exciting, and-yes-radical journey that comes with agreeing to live as God calls you to.

What does being radical look like? In the Bible, the common characteristics are:

  • They trusted God.
  • They listened to God’s voice and then obeyed-even when it cost them.
  • Because of their faith, they lived lives that looked different from everyone else’s.

That’s a short list and a tall order, but basically it means you can be a radical too. There’s nothing on that list that is impossible for you. There’s nothing on that list that requires you to be older, or more financially stable, or to have a college degree. No matter who you are or where you live you can live a radical faith.

Meet Erin, she has learned practical ways to do just that.

My Name is Erin: One Girl’s Plan for Radical Faith is part of a 4-book series:

My Name is Erin: One Girl’s Journey to Discover Truth
My Name is Erin: One Girl’s Journey to Discover Who She Is
My Name is Erin: One Girl’s Mission to Make a Difference

P.S. You can read them in any order – but be radical and jump in! Find the series here.

Confessions of a Boy-Crazy GirlConfessions of a Boy-Crazy Girl

by Paula Hendricks

Sound familiar?

1. You spot a cute boy (we’ll call him Boy A).

2. You dream about Boy A.

3. You do whatever it takes to make Boy A notice you.

4. Even though Boy A doesn’t pursue you, you hang on to your dream of Boy A until he (a) moves to the North Pole with no access to a cell phone or computer, (b) dies and is buried or cremated, or (c) begins dating another girl.

5. You mend your broken heart by hating Boy A and finding another cute boy (Boy B). You replace Boy A with Boy B and begin all over again .

Paula has gone through an entire alphabet-and more-of boys over the years.

As she shares her journal entries and stories-the good, the bad, and the ugly-you’ll be encouraged to trust God with your love life and buckle up for the ride!

Written for teen girls, Confessions of a Boy-Crazy Girl will help you on your own journey from neediness to freedom. Grab your copy here.
