ID Cards: Because We Need to Know Whose We Are

I’m convinced that my identity shapes how I live.

What I think God says about me will change how I respond to expectations put upon me.

What I think God says about Himself will affect how I react to disappointments and rejections.

What I think God says about who I am, behind closed doors, will change how I behave when no one is looking.

What I think God says about His Son as my Savior impact how I live my life now through eternity.Do you know whose you are?

Knowing Whose I am and who I am has changed my life.

Over these last 20 years, my identity has been made new as it has taken shape through embracing God’s Truth. And yet even still, I have much to learn. Much to remember. Much to live out.  It takes time partnered with determination to replace stinkin’ thinkin’ with holy Truth {consider this resource, Identity: Replacing Stinking Thinking with Holy Value}.

As I raise my own children, and continue to mentor teen girls, I’m seeing that this identity journey is one that I need to be passionate about…not only for myself…but for the sake of those I want to influence.

How I see the world, my God, and myself changes how they’ll see too.

If my perspective on God and His Truth is the foundation to my identity, imagine the impact that will have on those I’m called to teach and train up…on those I’m supposed to lead and encourage…on those I’m supposed to love and share the Gospel with. Will you tell them who they are?

So what should we do about our identity problem…and their’s?

We need to own it, know it, and live it out.

Our identity is formed by digging deep into the Word and embracing its truth — not just what we feel but what it says.  It’s about putting a shield up in front of those little sneaky lies and self-doubts, and instead wielding the sword — the Word — in a battle for our emotional and spiritual safety.

Ephesians 6:11 – 17

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

It’s a process, my friends. One we need to push each other to embark upon and cheer loudly for every one of us to make it to the finish line. If not for ourselves, then for those we dearly love.

Our identity perspective is impacting the next generation’s identity, too.

So, will you embrace your identity in Christ and let it flow out of you onto those God has called you to impact?ID Cards: Do you know whose you are?

We want to help you know your identity in Christ.

And we want you to be able to share with those you love the truth about their identity, too. So we’ve put together a collection of Biblical truths that are foundational to our identity.  These ID Cards are so much fun!  They are available as a PDF file with each ID Card positioned on a different page. This means you can use them in all sorts of creative ways:

ID Cards Example

  • print out the collection to tuck into an 8.5 x 11, 5 x7 or 4×6 frame
  • trim each one to use as a notecard
  • create a banner flag by cutting them into a triangle shape, attaching to a string, and hang across a mantel or window
  • use as an invitation to an ETC gathering, where you can talk about identity
