It All Comes Back to Motive

Have you ever really stopped to consider what you share with others?

Is it a matter of seeking approval from your social circle?

Are you hoping to finding acceptance “as is,” even if you wish your issues were different?

When the words slip from your lips, are you hoping to get a response?

Or are you just unloading and would like it if your “advice-givers” would shush up and listen?

I know that my motives for sharing my heart with others has definitely changed over the years. As a broken-hearted teen, I most definitely was craving love in all the wrong plays. As an insecure 20-something, I was seeking approval and acceptance, even Christian circles.  But as God has healed the hole in my heart with His love, grace, and mercy, my motives for sharing have most definitely changed. That’s what I’m sharing about over at The Better Mom as a part of a month-long series in which we’re telling our stories so that you can get to know who we are and why we do what we do.

When the Heart Tells Your Story

Let me say, writing a post about yourself is so hard!  I tackled it the only way I know how by explaining why I’m a heart-sleeve wearer, and always have been, even though my motives have changed over the years. I hope  you’ll swing by The Better Mom and offer your thoughts! If you’re a heart-sleeve wearer, too, leave a comment. We can form a pretend club, like we’re in third grade and gathering around the jungle gym at recess, bonding over our sensitive and transparent side while committing to share our hearts for the glory of God!

If this is your first time visiting. . .
