It’s the New Year, so of course everyone is talking about resolutions and fresh new beginnings. It’s as though there is something magically about the calendar changing digits. Isn’t that ironic since yesterday’s problems seem to always worm their way into today’s reality.
We long for fresh starts.
We long for clean slates.
But the stories God is writing in our lives build upon the days we’ve already lived.
What was is shaping what is and everything that is yet to come.

So rather than making New Year’s resolutions and fearing a future marred with failed goals, why not begin these first days of the new year seeking God for His plans for your life?
Wouldn’t it be a better use of your time to surrender your heart to Him and ask for Him to work His way in your life? Imagine how setting apart 10 minutes a day to meet with God, dig into His Word, and pray could radically change not only the start of this new year, but your whole life?
Friend, getting real with God is the first step in embracing the life you crave — one where who you are on the inside becomes who you want to be on the outside, regardless of your circumstances. If this is what you long for, then I urge you to take the next step. I pray these Scripture Prayers, taken from each chapter in Meet the New You, offers the focus and guidance you need in getting honest with God and beginning the journey of meeting the new you in this new year.
