How Are You Using Your Strengths?

When was the last time you appreciated the way God made you?

Has there been a task or way of responding to a situation in which you knew your God-given strengths were an asset?

Friend, it’s worth taking the time to reflect on how God made us and is using us, especially as we consider how to invest our time and resources in the future.

Wouldn’t you also agree that it’s worth being intentional about considering our God-given strengths since we all too easily notice our weaknesses? It doesn’t hurt to look at what’s working well and give thanks to God for it!

How are you using your strengths?

For example, throughout my book launch process, I was more overwhelmed than I had been in years. My dear friend, Cherie, was well aware of my insecurities and frustrations and jumped into action exactly how God wired her to function. See, one of Cherie’s strengths is as a people connector. She has the ability to network “all her peoples” together for each other’s gain and God’s glory. Yes, it felt weird to call Cherie’s friend, Anna, and explain that “She told me to call you . . .”, but it was worth it. Anna was full of encouragement, wisdom, insight, and creativity, which is exactly what I needed in one of the lowest points in my publishing journey. In my weakness, Cherie’s and Anna’s strengths shined.

When was the last time someone’s strengths in action were a blessing to you?

As I shared in Meet the New You, our God-given strengths are not meant for our own gain. God’s purpose is for us to serve each other as members of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12). That serving comes through our strengths as well as our spiritual gifting and the wisdom we gain through living life with the Lord.

Do you know the ways God wants to use your strengths in the body of Christ?

Yes, He made you on purpose and for a good purpose!

Maybe it’s time to consider pinpointing your strengths so you can purposefully use them!

Did you know the Highlands Ability Assessment is an incredible tool that will enable you to see how you can operate in your strengths? It’s a highlight of my day when I get to walk a client through their HAB report and how to apply the results to their life, ministry, and work. I’d count it a privilege to work with you, too!
