The Race We’re All In for More Time

Do you desire to spend more time with God but just cannot find the time among all your responsibilities?

Do you desire to give those extra few minutes a day to your spouse or children to show them your love? Are you envious of those women who have the time to watch their kids’ sports, wishing you could be on the sidelines too?

If you can only find the time in your busy schedule . . .

You are not alone in this struggle. You are taking part in the one race we are all part of on a daily basis.

The race for time and priorities.

That race . . . you know you need to scale down and say no to work responsibilities and put your family first, but you just cannot find a way. That race . . .  where the cares of the world take all your energy and time so that you barely find time for the most important appointment you know you should have, but often miss – your time with your precious Father in heaven.

What will it take to give God your time and attention?

The race where God is scheduled around our plans instead of our plans being scheduled around God.

As a mother and wife, I often find it hard it keep all the balls in the air and still feel at peace that I am coping, since feeling overwhelmed seems more like the order of the day. But I am determined to put God back into the place He belongs. That is the only way I can reach a place in my life again where I can do everything that is expected of me but still spend the time with my Daddy God. A place where I can become the best version of me, not only for myself but for everyone else involved.

What time do you have to give? Is it five minutes a day? Maybe you have an hour. It does not matter; bring what you have – whether it is the five minutes in the bathroom in the morning, your drive to work, or the seconds before you fall asleep at night.

[clickToTweet tweet=”If you bring the little you have and surrender it to God, He can multiply it for you.” quote=”If you bring the little you have and surrender it to God, He can multiply it for you.”]

If we look at John 6:1-14 in the Bible, where Jesus was able to take the five small barley loaves and two small fish from the boy and multiplied it to feed thousands so there were even leftovers, we see that He did not only meet the people’s need but He exceeded it beyond their imagination. What seemed impossible in the natural was mere ordinary business for Jesus.

God can take whatever little we have and multiply it into abundance, so that we even have leftovers to share with others.

He can turn the one minute we have into much time with Him. If we are willing to give Him our little, He can enable us to finish a project in half the time it usually takes. He can help us to get more done in less time, so that we can go home and spend our time with our loved ones. He can give us favor in your work place and with people, which we will never be able to obtain through our own efforts. He can give us wisdom and insight without having to do the hours of research usually required.

God can take our little for Him and turn it into an abundance.

Even if you cannot find the silent moment with Jesus, start to bring to Him everything you do and wherever you go. Speak to Him as you are driving, think of Him as you make your coffee, see Him as part of your discussions, see Him sitting there with you in your meetings. As you involve God in your life, He will show Himself. He will show you what you need to do, what you are supposed to do, what you need to delete from your life, and what you need to add.
