{12 Eternal Gifts} Let my Spirit…

Let my spirit fill you. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? God longs to fill us with His Spirit.  It is a gift He gives us by faith in His holy Son as our Lord and Savior.  It is a gift that began before the beginning of time, came to earth in a miraculous manager birth, and manifested in our lives through the cross of Christ, bringing about the fulfillment of the Scriptures and giving us access to eternal life. The gift of God’s spirit dwelling within…

Open Your Heart

Have you ever been accused, rather negatively I might add, of wearing your heart on your sleeve? Oh, for the life of me, I can’t even begin to count the number of times my parents, most certainly out of love, urged me to cover up my arm-band badge connected straight to my heart.  It was like there was a leaky valve, pouring my soul right out of my skin into the hands of any passerby. Looking back, I most certainly see why I was eager to leave my heart in a messy trail of relationships.  I was desperately trying to…

Celebrating Advent

Christians around the world celebrate Advent each Christmas season.  Beginning with the first Sunday following Thanksgiving and marked off by the following three Sundays, Advent is a time to prepare your heart and mind for the glorious remembrance of Christ’s birth. Depending on church tradition and culture, Advent can be as simple as reading a portion of Scripture, lighting a candle, and saying a prayer.  It is a wonderful practice to share with family members, friends, college roommates, and even twenty-something colleagues after an evening dinner together throughout the Sundays in December. We encourage you to make the most of…
