Ideas for Mentoring Your Daughters through the Holidays

As I enter full-steam ahead into this holiday month, I am especially sensitive about the opportunity to intentionally mentor my daughters through the holidays.  I want to help them embrace the fullness of remembering the Christ child’s birth, without heaping on extra responsibilities rooted in traditions that drain their schedules of rest and joy. The challenge, however, is that my three girls are in distinctly different developmental stages. Through the Teens My oldest, fourteen, and is already studying for finals while and working on a bio project, and yet rather spend her time watching football and catching up on sleep.…

What does biblical mentoring mean?

It is my privilege to share with you a sweet word of inspiration  from on of our fabulous Team members, Vanessa, who serves More to Be in more ways than one:  She is our M2B Mentoring Network Assistant, Social Media Assistant, and a GET Connected leader for our Moms of Teens group.  She joined the More to Be Team after completing the very first Mentoring Study Course and has blessed our socks off ever since. I hope you take a few minutes to hear her heart for mentoring. What does biblical mentoring mean to me? A few years ago I…

Why Mentors Are Needed

There’s nothing like the celebration of Mother’s Day to remind me how important a momma is in a child’s life. Whether their moms have left this temporary dwelling {Jessica offers a poignant reminder of this impact} or left their calling…

Mentoring Mondays: Biblical Mentoring is Discipleship

So isn’t mentoring really discipleship? This is a question that comes my way often, which is why I dedicated a chapter toward unpacking the differences and similarities in  Impact My Life.  Yes, biblical mentoring is discipleship, but it isn’t limited by the traditional understanding of discipleship.  This is how I explain it, in part, in Impact My Life: Biblical mentoring is a combination of mentoring and discipleship. Jesus set the example for us in the way He came alongside the disciples, modeled his Father’s instructions in action, answered their questions, responded to their needs and challenged them forward in their…

Getting Together with Moms Together

Do you know about the wonderful Moms Together Facebook page founded by T. Suzanne Eller? It is a great social media hangout for moms, providing a community of support and encouragement as they seek to raise up the next generation. I’m honored to spend all day today (Tuesday), serving as as the Moms Together guest host. We’re going to be talking about mentoring and teens, which is certainly one of my passions. I’ll be answering questions and presenting ideas that will encourage moms to engage with a mentoring mindset in raising their teens! If you’re dropping in from Moms Together, welcome!…
