If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25 ESV
Boots have been a cold-weather staple since humans first encountered cold weather.
There are many wonderful things about owning a nice pair of boots. The most important, of course, is their practicality. Do they keep my feet warm and comfortable? With the right pair, I can spend all day walking around New York–one of my favorite ways to spend a day–without my toes getting cold or my heels chafing.
The second great thing is that they make great fashion sense! Boots can go with just about any outfit. A well-made pair can last for decades. And at the end of the day, they’re pretty darn cute, especially for something so functional!
For great deals on boots at this time of year, you can check out companies like Rack Room Shoes and Famous Footwear online.
But When You Put On Those Boots…
Ladies, remember, there are more important things in life than fashion.
Fashion is extremely insignificant in comparison with your walk with God. Taking care of yourself includes your physical appearance, but your spiritual walk is what will determine your relationships with God, yourself, and others. “Walking by the Spirit” means loving God and others with Christ-like love.
As women, we can spend a significant amount of time each day physically preparing ourselves to go out. How much thought are we giving to God and sharing His love with others? Sure, it’s fun to think about how many outfits can you put together to go with a pair of cute boots. But what about spending more time thinking about how you’re going to use those boots to walk as a child of God?
Do you ever struggle to balance the time you spend preparing your physical appearance with the time you spend preparing your heart in devotion to the Lord?
