Christians around the world celebrate Advent each Christmas season. Beginning with the first Sunday following Thanksgiving and marked off by the following three Sundays, Advent is a time to prepare your heart and mind for the glorious remembrance of Christ’s birth.
Depending on church tradition and culture, Advent can be as simple as reading a portion of Scripture, lighting a candle, and saying a prayer. It is a wonderful practice to share with family members, friends, college roommates, and even twenty-something colleagues after an evening dinner together throughout the Sundays in December.
We encourage you to make the most of Advent this year with this helpful guide, which includes a brief explanation of the the tradition of Advent along with the Scripture passages to read each Sunday.
